Corporate governance
We have a broad-based board of directors. The Board functions as a full board and through 5 (five) committees constituted to oversee specific operational areas. The committee includes Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, ESG committee and Operations Committee. The Board is constituted of non-executive directors and meets on a quarterly basis.

He has experience in TA, impact assessment and strategy development: he has recently been instrumental in developing SIDI strategy on Sustainable agriculture and energy. Emmanuel is also a member of the Credit committee of the FEFISOL Fund, a European Fund dedicated to social investment in Africa. He has participated to and been a board member of several Microfinance institutions including ACAD in Palestine and ENDA TAMWEEL in Tunisia.

She is a microfinance expert with local and international experience with particular emphasis on regulation, prudential norms supervision, transformation, and industry standard-setting. She has over 14 years of experience in development finance, bank supervision and project management in the Bank of Uganda and 7 years with FINCA International first as the Africa Region Finance Specialist then as Policy, Regulation, and Transformation Specialist and finally, full time as FINCA Uganda Transformation Manager. Here she spearheaded its transformation from an NGO into the first regulated microfinance institutions in Uganda and the first under a specific law in sub-Saharan Africa.
For the last 11 years, she has provided consultancy services as an associate and East African representative of AYANI Inclusive Financial Sector Consultants.
She served as President and co-founder of the Association of Microenterprise Finance Institutions of Uganda, (AMFIU) and a founder member of the Micro Finance Forum, the national forum of the microfinance industry where she initiated the lobby for the appropriate framework that affects microfinance institutions. Clare has also provided policy, supervision, transformation/legal advice to other countries in Africa, including Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, and Southern Sudan. In Uganda, she has provided savings training course developments and initiated village-level savings and credit associations and related TOT Financial Literacy under the Bank of Uganda National Framework for strategic entities including the Catholic Church.
She is an ASHOKA Fellow in recognition for her pioneering work in integrated special education in Uganda, in setting up Hill Preparatory School as a demonstration model that provided empirical evidence for national policy acknowledgment. It has been in operation for 30 years.

She holds various certificates in banking, Microfinance, leadership as well as a Commonwealth certificate in Governance and another in Board Chairmanship. She is also pursuing a course in ICSA. She was the Regional Director for Strømme Foundation Eastern Africa for 15 years and retired in December 2018.
Other current board positions: Advisor to the Board of the National Women’s committee Deliverance Church Ministries, Committee member to a Community Based Organization, PENDEZA, Board Chairperson Uganda Airlines.

She has over 20 years’ experience in audit and accounting from Deloitte and Touché. She has facilitated a number of training meetings and been a facilitator at the local Institute’s Continuing Professional Development meetings. She is currently working as a financial consultant in a private capacity for individuals and different Organizations.

Rosemary has been involved institution restructuring, development and launch of new products (for both the urban and rural clientele), designing product operational manuals, staff development and review of management information systems.
In July 2006, Rosemary left KWFT and started offering consultancy services specializing in Microfinance and Enterprise development. Over time she has undertaken various consultancy assignments mainly in Institutional Assessments, Training needs assessment, Capacity Building, Business Development Services, Market research, project design and management in different institutions. Rosemary has been involved in Peacebuilding and conflict resolution for the microfinance sector consulting for the Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMFI). Rosemary is a Faculty member of the School of Applied Microfinance (SAM).
Rosemary holds a master’s in education (Entrepreneurship) from the university of Illinois and a Bed (Hons) in Business Administration and Economics from Kenyatta University. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Leadership and Governance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Rosemary has also completed the Microfinance Training of Trainers Course (MFTOT 9 - 2013) – a 6-month course offered by Tokyo Development Learning Centre. She also holds various training certificates in different fields of Microfinance and community development from internationally recognized training institutions in addition to having extensive exposure to different institutions in Bangladesh, Latin America and other countries.
Other responsibilities: Board member – Soluti Finance East Africa Ltd and Member of the Technical Advisory Panel – Five Talents Kenya Board.

He also served as Relationship manager at the International headquarter of Paribas; in charge of Italian, Spanish branches (1984-1986) and Portugal Representative office: day to day coordination, representing branches in front of Paris Credit Committees, coordination of the budget processes, ensuring consistency with the Head Office guidelines, development Plan and credit policy, reporting concerns and/or solving misunderstandings in terms of alignment.
Pommier was also a relationship manager at the Central Branch of Paribas (1978 -1984) in charge of large, listed corporates (petroleum, civil engineering). Credit request files, business development opportunities etc. Between 1979-1980 he served in Militari service: sixteen months as a cooperant in Morocco (Inspection générale du ministère des travaux publics).
From 2012 to December 2017, Pommier was Head of Individual Shareholding at BNP Paribas (financial information, sponsor of the Shareholders' Club and project management of the AGM, dealing with Proxy advisors about corporate governance topics). He has also been undertaking short audit mission on behalf Pamiga (Cameroun). From 2020 to date, he has been supporting SIDI on technical assistance of a microfinance institution in the Republic of Congo.

Francois worked with the universal banking group Crédit Agricole S.A, first as the Group director of Executive management (October 2009- 2016) then as head of Human resources of the International Retail Banking Division (2016- Jan 2020) and lastly as head of Inclusive Finance at the Group CSR department (Feb. 2020 to Feb. 2022).
Francois worked before with AREVA Group, a worldwide leader in nuclear Energy- in Paris as VP of compensation and performance management (2005-2009); and with the Airbus Group- based in Munich, as International HR VP (1999-2004).
He managed his previous assignment in consulting (Mercer) and Group Life Insurance (La Mondiale, Swiss Life).
Francois has volunteer experience and serves as a Director of the NGO Unapei 92 – a disabled adult’s caretaking organization in France – and as Director of KRK a microfinance institution in Kosovo. He managed different consulting assignments for European impact investors in Cambodia, Senegal and Sierra Leone.

Paul worked with Centenary Rural Development Bank for 6 years in Credit management and supervision. He then Joined PRIME/West, a USAID project that was in business for Biodiversity as an Institutional Strengthening Specialist where he worked for a period of 1 ½ years working with several groups of farmers, SACCOs and MFIs to enable them to access financial services. He then Joined Pride Microfinance (MDI) Limited, one of the regulated and leading Microfinance institutions in Uganda as the Credit Manager- Individual lending where he worked for a period of 4 years.
He joined SMF EA Ltd in May 2011 as the Operations Manager, a position he held till March 2019. He was appointed Ag. Chief Executive Office on April 1, 2019.

Other specialised trainings attended are in areas including Credit and Risk Management, Corporate Governance and Strategic leadership among others. Cressy has over 15 years’ experience in credit management and administration having worked as a Credit Assistant / Officer with Pride Microfinance (one of the re-known and regulated Microfinance Institutions in Uganda) from 2000 to 2009, thereafter as a Credit Administrator in the same institution from 2009 to 2012. He joined Oikocredit International - Uganda in 2012 as a Projects Officer – the position that involved appraisal and analysis for both wholesale and SME lending to microfinance institutions, agricultural projects, and church related projects. Cressy joined Stromme MFEA ltd on 16th September 2013.

Christopher Luyima Joined SMF EA Ltd on 1st April 2011 as An Accountant. Prior to joining SMF EA Ltd, he worked with Micro-Enterprise Development Network (MED-Net), a microfinance affiliate of World Vision for over 6 years moving from the level of Accountants Assistant to Branch Accountant and eventually Financial Accountant.

He is a graduate of Business Studies (majoring in Accounting) from Kyambogo University, Kampala. Abel is undertaking an E4Imapct MBA (Entrepreneurship for Impact Master of Business Administration) at Uganda Martyrs University in collaboration with ALTIS, the Graduate School of Business and Society of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Milan.
He has had training in Islamic Modes of Financing and Framework (by IRADA Microfinance Limited supported by Bank of Khartoum and Islamic Development Bank), Group Lending methodology, Risk Management, Innovation and Product Development, Training of Trainers as well as Small and Medium Enterprises Appraisal by African Capacity Development & Research Institute (ACADRI).
Abel has worked with The Microfinance Support Centre Limited (Soroti, Mbale and Mbarara regions) from 2013 to February 2021 where he participated in championing group lending in Eastern Uganda and contributed to the successful implementation of the pilot phase of Islamic Microfinance in Uganda. He previously worked with FINCA Uganda Limited (MDI) between 2011 and 2012. Abel joined SOLUTI on 1st March 2021.

Denis has over 8 years of experience in Economic Inclusion, Project Planning and Management, Fundraising, Gender auditing and gender mainstreaming and Research. Denis’ Programme management cycle experience cover range expertise with emphasis on Right Based Approach (RBA), Results Based Management and M&E for Programmes in international and local issues, community/ economic inclusion, Refugee response, Gender response, Community priorities, Education and Civil Society Strengthening. Denis has 6 years’ experience in partnership management, achieving results through others, Budget management, servant leadership, performance management plans (PMP).
Previously, Denis worked for Christian Blind Mission, a Germany based NGO as a Programme Officer for one and half year. He also worked at Stromme Foundation as Programme Specialist for Youth Economic Empowerment for 7 years and as a Field Coordinator with Emergency Action Uganda for 2 years in Northern Uganda. He joined SOLUTI in October 2022.

He previously worked in HOFOKAM limited as Head of Risk and Compliance where he championed credit risk management and analysis. He served in Opportunity Bank and Pride Microfinance Limited as a Branch Manager and in other various capacities having started as a loans officer.
Didas holds a master’s degree in business administration from Uganda Martyrs University in addition to a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Accounting) from Makerere University. He has attended short training courses in credit, supervision, management, marketing, and risk.

Deborah has a 3.5 years’ experience working as account and administration assistant at Soluti Finance East Africa, a role she started on 1st March 2020. Trained as an internee at the same company from October 2019 to 28th February 2020. She attained a certificate in reception and client management in 2020.
Deborah has participated in annual stock taking and reconciliation at URA in 2019 and 2013. She worked as a cashier at Lakeshore and Nile pride SACCO (Jinja) managing the daily collection of cash and banking from 2013 to 2019.

Currently Joseph the Transport Assistant supports the Finance unit in logistics, Store Management and basic accounting activities like writing cheques and vouchers.
